  • 2. Download Chapter 11 exercise zip file to your desktop.
  • 3. Unzip Chapter 11 exercise zip files and folders into your local development Chapter 11 folder.
  • 4. Students will upload test files to development site.
  • 5. Students will preview in browser development files.
  • 6. Students will upload files to live site.
  • 7. Students will preview in browser live files.

Exercise 2

  • 1. Select a jQuery Displaying Images Plugin.
  • 2. Include selected jQuery Displaying Images Plugin on a separate webpage.
  • 3. Students will upload development site to development site.
  • 4. Students will preview in browser development files.
  • 5. Students will upload development site to live site.
  • 6. Students will preview in browser live files.

Student Exercise 1 - Create XML Contacts data File

  • 1. Create a contacts XML file using data in the attached
    contacts PDF..
  • 2. Students will upload development site to development site.
  • 3. Students will preview in browser development files.
  • 4. Students will upload development site to live site.
  • 5. Students will preview in browser live files.

Student Exercise 2 - Create Individual XML data file

  • 1. Create XML data file that has five node elements and 8 child nodes.
  • 2. Name your xml file {Filename_Your_Name.xml} e.g. – music_jane_doe.xml or musicJaneDoe.xml
  • 3. Students will upload xml file to development site.
  • 4. Students will preview xml file on development site in browser.
  • 5. Students will upload xml file from development site to live site.
  • 6. Students will preview xml file on live site in browser.

Student Exercise 1 - XML Data Retrival

  • 1. Create nine (9) different HTML DOM Node Actions from Examples:
    • Use your XML file for this exercise.
    • Create separate page for each HTML DOM Node Action.
    • One DOM Node Action should be created for each type of DOM node action.
    • More then one DOM Node Action per node type can be included.
  • 2. Example Files
  • 3. Link each HTML DOM Node Action page to your Exercise Home page.
  • 4. Test each HTML DOM Node Action on Developmental site.
  • 5. Students will upload tested Exercise Homepage from development site to live site.
  • 6. Students will preview live site in browser.

  • 1. Create a contacts XML Schema file using your XML data file.
  • 2. Students will upload XML Schema file to development site.
