Home computing devices and networks are changing the way we live daily life, work and play. This course is for home users of computers and digital technology. Get to know what home digital devices can do for you. Discuss how the Internet, the World Wide Web, wireless devices and even the Internet of Things (IoT) are impacting your life. Get to know how to save money and get the best use of these new technologies to enhance your life. This class is the first class in a sequence of classes

Prerequisites:

Computer Basics, File Management Skills, or equivalent experience.

    • Explain the difference between telecommunication and computer wireless networks.
    • Explain and defines how to use the World Wide Web, Cloud, and Internet of Things (IoT).

    Please list the three most important questions you have concerning digital technology.

    Exercise 2

    • List the digital telecommunication devices your interact with daily.
    • List the primary telecommunication device you use?
    • How do your telecommunication devices connect to a network. (Wired, WiFi, or Mobile)
    • Share your lists with a classmate.

    Exercise 3

    • Is you main device configured to use the World Wide Web (WWW)?
    • If So - what Browser do you use?
    • How does your device manage files?
    • What apps do you use?
